? Lyra - Personal safety app with SOS button

LYRA MOBILE

Lyra personal safety app

Lyra Mobile

Lyra Mobile is a personal safety app developed to help anyone request assistance quickly in a situation of danger, emergency or vulnerability.

Through an SOS button, Lyra can alert trusted contacts, share real-time location and provide protection features such as audio recording, video recording, discreet mode, biometric protection and alert history.

It was designed for victims of domestic violence, people experiencing stalking, young people, teenagers, older people, people living alone and anyone who may face a situation of risk.

Lyra does not replace public emergency services. It works as an additional tool for protection and communication between users and the people they trust.

LYRA CENTRAL

Lyra Central platform interface

Lyra Central

Lyra Central is an institutional platform designed to allow authorized organizations to receive, monitor and manage SOS alerts issued by participants connected to their organization.

The platform can support municipalities, social institutions, victim support organizations, community protection projects and other organizations that need to monitor risk situations in an organized and coordinated way.

Each organization manages only the participants associated with it through a controlled and secure connection system. When an alert is activated, the organization can access essential incident data and follow the information made available during the emergency.

Lyra Central transforms the individual app into a protection solution with institutional response capabilities.

LYRA'S MISSION

Lyra's mission

“If thousands of people are victims of domestic violence, why do they not all have the benefit of access to a panic button?”

Lyra was born from this question.

For a long time, I wondered why only a small proportion of domestic violence victims have access to a panic button, while so many others remain without any immediate protection tool.

Lyra was born from that reflection.

I believe technology should serve people and that access to protection should not depend on financial circumstances, the existence of a formal process or any other factor that prevents someone from asking for help when they need it most.

Lyra's mission is to make personal protection more accessible, free and equitable, allowing anyone to benefit from a simple, fast and effective safety tool.

Although inspired by the reality of domestic violence, Lyra was designed to protect anyone at risk, including in cases of disappearance, stalking, kidnapping, accidents, vulnerable older people, young people, teenagers and anyone who needs to request help quickly.

Because I believe technology truly makes sense when it is used to protect people.

And because I believe that by making these tools accessible to everyone, we can help save more lives.

THE CREATOR

Vanessa Militão, creator of Lyra

The creator

Vanessa Militão

Lyra was conceived and developed by Vanessa Militão from a specific concern: understanding why so many vulnerable people still lack access to a simple protection tool.

After questioning the lack of widespread access to panic buttons for victims of domestic violence, she decided not to stop at the question. She chose to act and use technology to help protect people and society.

Without a large team behind her, without external funding and personally assuming the necessary investment, she developed Lyra independently, designing and building the app, the institutional platform and the entire project.

Lyra was created with a social purpose: to provide essential personal safety features free of charge and create a solution capable of reaching people who might otherwise not have access to this type of protection.

The project continues to grow with the aim of establishing partnerships with institutions, municipalities and support organizations, while keeping the same mission at its core: using technology to protect people and, whenever possible, help save lives.
